5TH ANNUAL GTHING ALL STAR CLASSIC REVIEW


Atlantic City, NJ - August 18 - This year the kids where in for a treat. Gthing decide to stay home in not take the show on the road, for the 5th Annual 24/7 Gthing All Star Classic Event. We figure why not do it  at home since we were hitting the milestone of the 5th year mark that Gthing launch the first All Star Classic game under the umbrella of Basketball Spotlight in Trenton, NJ. Since then Gthing has travel to different parts of New Jersey to have the 24/7 basketball event. The 5th Annual mark has recognize some of the great player's who actually participated in the very first All Star Classic Game which was held at Trenton Catholic, names such as Honesty Scott-Grayson / Baylor University, Danielle Robinson / Seton Hall University, Imani Lewis / Wisconsin, Mya Grimes / High Point, etc. They all went on to have good high school career's, all scored 1,000 points and I'm sure along with tons of rebounds and assist and steals. This year was a little different then the previous years, we would wind up doing two Rising 9th grade games and one Rising 8th grade game. The level of competition was so strong for the 2022 Class we actually didn't have a choice but to do two games. We started out with the Rising 8th graders first who brought some heat to the court, and then we followed with the older girls. There were kids from multiple states that played in this event, also on hand we had a special guest appearance by Baylor freshman Honesty Scott-Grayson to present the Most Exciting Player Award of the game in which the award is named after her.









Gia Cooke - 5'7 - Elizabeth Seton HS MD - Fairfax Stars - Clinton, MD - Ms excitement put on a show even though her team came up short in overtime, but she walk away with the (Most Exciting Award Trophy).True point guard, creates off  the dribble, not afraid of contact, explosive of the dribble, true floor leader, huge upside, A top guard in the 22' class.






Justine Pissott - 6'1 - Red Bank Catholic HS, NJ - Shoreshots NJ - Toms River, NJ - Long rangy shooter, shoots well over her defenders, consistent on the three ball, athletic enough to create her own shot, length, long arms. 





Nehku Mitchell - 5'11 - McDonogh HS, MD - Power Move MD - Baltimore, MD - Strong power forward with a good touch, can shoot the mid-range shot, showed some of that in the All Star Game. Long athletic, Strong inside presence.



Paris Clark - 5'8 - Long Island Lutheran HS, NY - Exodus NY - Huntington, NY - Clark won (MVP). She displayed her one two punch at the All Star Classic, Clark scores in different variety of ways on the court. confident floor leader, scores in bunches, attacks off the dribble, finesse type player, mid-range game.




Cori Barnes - 5'11 - St. Francis Academy HS, MD - Power Move - Baltimore, MD - Strong perimeter prospect who spots from anywhere on the court. solid player, mid-range gamer, excellent form, follows through shot, attacks basket at different times during the game, strong.





Saniah (YG) Caldwell - 5'9 - Saddle River Day HS, NJ - New Jersey Sparks - Franklin Lakes, NJ - Coming off of injury but looking fresh, range is there, ability to get to rack is looking easy, handle, attacks, smooth operator, athletic, quick first step.




Alyssa Costigan - 5'11 - Paul VI HS, VA - Potomac Valley - Herndon, VA - Big guard with a great skill set, allows the game to come to her. drives and finish plays in traffic, versatile, reads defenders, plays under control, half-court scorer.





Chardonnay Hartley - 5'0 - Long Island Lutheran HS, NY - Westchester Hoopers - Bronx, NY - Speedy lead guard with handle, finishes plays in uptempo game, fast, tough to guard in the open court, floaters in the lane are consistent, mid-range starting to develop.





Aliyah Carlock - 5'8 - Bishop O' Connell HS, VA - Fairfax Stars - Lorton, VA - Strong combo guard with physical size in strength. court awareness and shot selection is there, rebounds and gets out, attacks the basket, handle.







Kayla Perez - 5'8 - The Rectory School HS, CT - NY Flight - Brick, NJ - Strong athletic off guard who drives in finishes plays in the transition game, strong and physical on the rebound, perfect passer, crafty.





Regina Walton - 5'1 - Elizabeth Seton HS, MD - Maryland Finest - Capital Heights, MD - Explosively quick uptempo athletic guard who shines in quick pace games, coast to coast game, pushes and distributes in traffic, scorers mentality, tough to guard, very elusive.





Pauline Paris - 5'7 - Albertus Magnus HS, NY - Exodus NY - New City, NY - Confident lead guard that pushes tempo and who brings the game to you. half-court creator, plays well under control, handle, skilled, great hands, high IQ, vision, court awareness. 





Julianna Laguna - 5'8 - Xaverian HS, NY - Philadelphia Belles - Staten Island, NY - (MVP) - Laguna but put on a clinic winning MVP in the first match up game for the 22 class. confident guard who manages the game well, scorers mentality when the ball is her hands, crafty, physical, high IQ, knows the game, attacks basket, recognizes mismatch.





Gabby Johnson - 5'8 - Western HS, MD - Power Move - Woodlawn, MD - Lead guard with poise and handle, distributes and deliver, passing game is great, kicks the ball to teammates, creates and attack off dribble, court vision.







Kiley Capstraw - 5'10 - West Orange HS, NJ - New Jersey Belles - West Orange, NJ - Definitely one of the most skilled players that played in All Star Game, has size in strength, long and athletic, court vision and awareness is there, makes the rights decisions.





Ally Carmen - 6'4 - Red Bank Catholic HS, NJ - Shoreshots - Barnegat, NJ - Power post player who is developing playing with her back to basket, good foot work, nimble feet, clogs lane, inside presence, physical, college frame, major D1 offers already on table.







Antonia Bates - 5'9 - Notre Dame Green Pond HS, PA - Easton, PA - Explosive athletic guard with size, rebounds and pushes in the transition game, uptempo type of guard, mid-range gamer, premier defender.
