Raleigh, NC - The 19th Annual Deep South Classic was a great turn up and turn out, it was a four day event that brought in 400 teams from all across the country. Actually this event had teams from over 25 different states, this was the second evaluation period in the month of April that had all of the 400 hundred some college coaches licking there chops, it also had some of the major evaluators in attendances, along with some major beat writers, and blogs. PATERSON, NEW JERSEY - Back in Silk City once again, where the competition is hot just like the fried fish. NJ Sparks started off the season with some high level AAU teams, it seemed as though everyone was there to get a good bump if you know what I mean. NEW JERSEY -  2016 TIP OFF CLASSIC was a hit, the CENTRAL JERSEY CARDINALS had gyms in four different counties. Those gyms where in Union, Somerset, Middlesex, and Monmouth, they brought in some quality teams from all around the State Of New Jersey but where not surprised at all because of who the tournament was ran by. It's director is none other then New Jersey All Time Leading Scorer Kristen Somogyi who finished her High School Career with 3,899 Points at St. Peter's in NJ, on the other flip side of that was Somogyi had All Time Coaching great Mary Klinger (USA TEAM) help out and they both got there coach on that day.

Leilani Correa - 2019 - 5'10 - Wing - Central Jersey Cardinals -  (NJ) - The most athletic Wing seen throughout the tournament, she displays good size and good ability to kind of do what she wants no matter if its on the Wing or a little at the top. Correa has develop a jump shot now which even makes it more difficult to guard her, not quite ready yet for the 1 or 5 position but definitely ready for the other three. Develop a jump shot now... Defends well... Athletic... Good size...


Mya Bembry - 2019 - 6'1 - Forward - IExcel -  (NJ) - Long forward who can get up in down the court with ease, she likes to get out and run. Has the ability to play in the post and which she don't but because of here long lanky frame and great jumping ability Mya makes up for it. Long athletic... Huge wingspan...

Sam Carangi - 2017 - 5'8 - Combo Guard - Philly Comets -  (PA) - Crafty guard who makes things happen, she has a high basketball IQ which helps her see the floor well and to get open on offense when being guarded by a bigger defender. Sam has already committed to Villanova. 

Melody Van Ness - 2017 - 5'7 - Guard - Team Miller -  (NJ) - Melody showed out this weekend, she was giving everybody the business, she was attacking the rim like GTHING never seen her do before. She had a outstanding year for her high school Sommerville, (NJ), Van Ness score in double figures in twenty eight out of twenty nine games. Attack mode all the time... Aggressive... Feisty...

Katie Jekot - 2017 - 5'9 - Combo Guard - Philly Comets -  (PA) - A all round good skilled player who can just about do everything she is ask to do it seems like. Already committed to Saint Joseph's Jekot didn't follow in her big sister footsteps by going to Villanova, no doubt Katie is capable of making a name for herself. Strong...  Nice size guard... Olivia Richardson - 2019 - 6'1 - Forward - Philly Comets -  (PA) - After losing some key parts coach Hazisk seems to keep finding talent, Richardson has a huge upside for a player that is in the 2019 class. Good size frame... Long arms... Good in the box...

Rachel Kuhl - 2020 - 5'7 - Combo Guard - Team Rebel -  (NJ) - A point guard with a scorers mentality, likes to run the show and she is good at doing that. Better at the two but can play the one, Kuhl can create her own shot and she does better when the ball is in her hands.

Erica Porter - 2020 - 6'3 - Post - Shoreshots -  (NJ) - The Shoreshots have something real big in this young lady, Porter is very skilled and coachable. She is a problem down low, Erica knows how to get open and set the screen, she has very good foot movement for a young lady who where a size 14. Good post player for a young age... Well coached... Knows here roll... Good rebounder... Strong... Good size for high school... Good lateral movement...

Chiara Tibbitt - 2018 - 6'1 - Forward - Central Jersey Cardinals - (NJ) - A real huge asset to the Cardinals, Tibbitt is someone who doesn't get a lot of press but we are here to say she can flat out play. With some of the older players leaving now is her time. Good rebounder... Great foot work... Lateral movement is good for her size... Needs a mid-range game...

Brianna Diaz - 2020 - 5'9 - Forward - Jersey Shore Elite -  (NJ) - Tweener who is very skilled, not quite shore of her actual position but we know she can score and can handle the ball a little bit, she has nice in can rebound.

Jordan Ashley - 2019 - 5'9 - Combo Guard - IExcel -  (NJ) - Young but experience guard, can create of the dribble, plays uptempo can get to the rim easily with her good ball handling skills when she blows by her defenders.

BROOKLYN, NY - Took a little trip to the Big Apple to see some of the top Middle Schooler's  from mainly the New York and New Jersey area, Joe Fenelon from NYG HOOPS REPORT always puts on a great event and knows how to find some of the top talent on the East Coast. He brought in Priscilla Edwards the former St. Bonaventure great and St. John's assistant, along with some other training and development coaches. You will have to sit back in wait a while because unfortunately some of these player are from the 2024 class to 2020. Here is the List.

Q: So Jhayla how has  it been for you since the transfer to the Patrick School ?

A: Transferring was hard, and I knew It would be. So, I had to make a name for myself and so I did that. Because of that I'm now one of the top shooters on the team and I can be trusted on the floor.

Q: How do you like playing on a team with a bunch of guards ?

A: Playing on a team full of guards is very tough. You have to know every position because everyone is required to play everywhere. And one mistake can take you right out, so you have to be on your P's and Q's.

Q:Has going to the St. Patrick's. Helped your game out, since going there ?

A: I think that the Patrick School has helped me me improve a lot. My defense has gotten a lot better, and my shooting has improved as well. And I'm used to playing at a higher level of competition, It's fun and It's just like AAU.

Q: Do you think you found a home ?

A: Yes, I think I found a home. This team is my family, these players are my sisters.

Q: What High School's did you attend before the Patrick School ?

A: Conwell Egan Catholic (PA), Rancocas Valley (NJ), and Trenton Catholic (NJ).

Q: Was the transition hard for you being as though you played for several different High School's ?

A: Yes, It was hard but I think that It was worth It cause I wouldn't  be where I'm at today.

Q: What are some of your goals for next season ?

A: For next season, one of my major goals is to average 20 points a game and to just go all out for my senior year. I want to set a record, and I want to make a name for myself.

Dara Mabrey - 2018 - 5'7 - Combo Guard - Manasquan HS, (NJ) - The 3rd of the Mabrey sister's who has a clear shot to be as good as her older sibling's. Dara doesn't have the height like the other's, but definitely has the skill to get to the next level. Very aggressive... Can create her own shot... Shoots the 3 ball well... Consistent...


Lauren McBride - 2016 - 6'1 - Forward - Gill St. Bernard HS, (NJ) - Watching McBride come from a small school and transfer to a big school like Gill she has come into her own, after transferring to Gill then a coaching change after one season it seems that Lauren has found her groove under new head coach Aaron Gratch. Can play down low... Good hands... Good handle for a big... Plays on the wing at times... Can play on the wing more if she develops a consistent jump shot...


Gracie Stone - 2018 - 5'9 - Point Guard - Long Island Lutheran HS, (NY) - Stone gets over shadowed by a fully loaded Long Island team, but we recognized the talent she had the minute she stepped on the court. Big guard... Strong... Can elevate... Good at taking contact when going to the basket... Good ball handler...


Kaiya Burnett - 2018 - 5'7 - Point Guard - Notre Dame HS, (NJ) - Should be able to help the Irish get to the TOC this year, after seeing Burnett this year we feel like the crafty point guard is ready to take her game to a whole new level. Can play the 1 or 2... Great ball handler... Good in transition... Can create of the dribble... Good jump shot... 

Nneka Ezeigbo - 2016 - 6'3 - Forward - Notre Dame HS, (NJ) - The beast from the East did some impressive things last week, she ended up with 24 Pt's in a ton of rebound in the lost to Rumson - Fair Haven (NJ). She is already committed to Robert Morris where she should be able to expand her game, one of the top players at the post position should be at the TOC unless the Irish gets upset bye someone. Big and strong... Physical... Good foot work... Great on glass... Lateral movement is good...



Addie Masonius - 2017 - 5'6 - Guard - Manasquan HS, (NJ) - One of the leaders for the under sized Warriors this year, put for some reason coach Lisa Kukoda knows how to put her players in the right positions to win games and Masonius is one of the those players. Plays hard... Good defender... Shoots the ball at a high percentage... Can rebound for her size.



Samantha Widmann - 2016 - 5"11 - Wing - Notre Dame HS, (NJ) - Definitely one of the reason why Notre Dame is playing at a high level this year, the hard nose Widmann can get it done on both ends of the court. Sam can play a few position when call upon, loves to play with a lot of energy when on the court. Plays with high intensity... Quick for her size... Strong... Can score... Good around the rim... Needs to start shooting a lot more... Committed to Cornell...



Nisani Santiago - 2019 - 5'3 - Point Guard - Gill St. Bernard HS, (NJ) - The Freshman has been playing big all season, putting up okay numbers against some hard competition. Coach Gratch also has put the youngster in the right position to help out Kramer in the back court and to also score in big situation, Santiago has took full advantage of this great opportunity. Small but is up for the challenge... Great ball handler... Breaks the press and trap well... Good mid-range shot... Has to start being more consistent will the 3 ball...

Stella Clark - 2017 - 5'3 - Point Guard - Manasquan HS, (NJ) - Clark (aka) The Energizer Bunny is the engine that makes Squan run, she always go's above in beyond while playing on the court. A crafty and scrappy guard who plays at a high level when she takes the floor for the Warriors. Great ball handler... Plays under control... High motor... Loves to take charge of the game... Sets up teammates and puts them in the right position to score.

LAWRENCEVILLE, GA - This year was the 2nd Annual Krossover Classic Event, it was held at Archer High School a suburb area located approximately 30 miles east of downtown Atlanta, this town is mostly known to people because of  WNBA and MINNESOTA LYNX STAR MAYA MOORE. At one point in the late 70's this small town was only popular because of Larry Flynt who was the owner of Hustler Magazine who was shot during a court appearance. Getting into Atlanta was no problem, getting out was, in which I started my journey Sunday at 8am and I didn't get back to the State Of New Jersey until 5am so let just say I'm still trying to catch up on my sleep.

Jasmine Walker - 2016 - 6'4 - Wing - Jeff Davis HS, (AL) - A definite complete player, who can just about don't do anything she wants on the court, playing a little on the Wing and a little in the Post Walker should be able to help out immediately at Florida St. Inside game were she clearing dominates at the High School level because of her athleticism and versatility, can step outside in hit the mid-range shot or the three ball,well round player. Athletic and long.... Can get up in down the floor well... Good range...

Sydni Harvey - 2018 - 5'9 - Point Guard - Brentwood Academy HS, (TN) - Young player who has a lot of upside despite all of the talent that comes out of Tennessee. Harvey loves to push the rock where she's sets up her teammates on the wing or in transition. Nice size guard with a good strong build... Good in transition.... Young.... Good IQ for a young guard...

Erika Cassell - 2016 - 6'2 - Post - Holy Innocents Episcopal HS, (GA) - The North Carolina State signee got into foul trouble early in this tournament, but she still was able to show a whole bunch of bright spots. She was guarding a top notch post in handle her own on the block, was very aggressive on the offensive side of the ball Erika knows how to use her big frame to create some space between her and her defender. Good foot work... Great lateral movement... If she develops a jump shot watch out.


Taylor Mason - 2017 - 5'9 - Point Guard - Norcross HS, (GA) - (Pictured Above) - Started off slow but finished with a strong showing, after settling down it didn't take long for her to heat up. Very fast going to the rack in which she did that Saturday, blowing by her opponent who was guarding her. Mason is a smooth type player who active on both sides of the ball. Smooth with it... Live wire... Quick... Attacks... Uses both hands with in attack mode...


Nichel Tampa - 2017 - 5'6 - Combo Guard - St. Francis HS, (GA) - One of everyone's favor who gets over looked a lot on a very talented Knights team, but we are here to tell you that she can go with the best of them. Chel can play both positions and can hurt you at both, good ball handler who likes to play at a very fast pace, Tampa is at her best when she is in her shooting role. Small frame with quickness... Always a shooting threat... Can drain from long range.... Consistent jumper...


Jala Jordan - 2018 - 6'1 - Wing - St. Francis HS, (GA) -  Jala is starting to look like she is ready to be a key part of capturing another championship, after this weekend Jordan looked like she is ready to step up for the challenge. This weekend against Holy Innocent Jordan was playing with a chip on her shoulder being very aggressive on offense and on the boards crashing them hard. Showed some versatility handling the ball in knocking down some good at the top of the key. Aggressive edge... Strong and mobile... Mid-range game... Can score especially around the the dotted line area...

Kasiyahna Kushkituah - 2017 - 6'3 - Post - St. Francis HS, (GA) - A USA 16 under attendee was rolling at the Krossover Classic, dominating in the paint against a tough Holy Innocent Post Erika Cassell. Kas had 21 Pt's in a ton of rebounds, she was very effective in the pick in roll situations which the Bears had a hard time defending. Kassiyahna Kushkituah is ranked at # 5 by ESPN HOOPGURLZ and # 6 by Prospect Nation for 2017, she is the #1 player at her position in the Class Of 2017, coach has her playing at a high level right now, being a better defender, guarding the paint and ceiling off her opponent. Playing and stay consistent... Rebounding... Playing on a high level as of lately... Using her frame more effectively...


Ahyiona Vason - 2016 - 5'5 - Point Guard - Jeff Davis HS, (AL) - Unsigned - Calling on all D1, D2, or Jucco this young lady can play, she was all over the court at the Classic. Vason has a wicked handle which she showed when she made a acrobatic move with the ball leaving the other player stretched out. Plays with heart and determination... Great baller handler... Fast.... Attack....


Kayla Jackson - 2016 - 6'0 - Post - Jeff Davis HS, (AL) - Look good, her team only played one game but she had a great showing. Good rebounder who can just about out work anybody on the glass, play along side Jasmine Walker people wouldn't know to much about her unless you saw her in person, in trust me you wouldn't be disappointed. Hard worker... Active on glass... Great rebounder...


Kayla Pointer - 2017 - 5'8 - Combo Guard - Holy Innocents HS, (GA) - Good player. Who you can tell is very well coached, Pointer who plays well under control in different type of situations has a high enough basketball IQ to recognized certain thing some other player can't. Smooth type of player who is a hell of a passer especially in transition, likes to get two her spot spot on the floor were she create in make things happen. Smooth.. Good handle... Great in Transition... Creative...


Maya Dodson - 2017 - 6'1 - Wing - St. Francis HS, (GA) - One of the most versatile players I have ever seen before, If Dodson could palm a ball we swear to you she would be able to dunk as we speak.  Maya finished with 20 Pt's at the Krossover, she trots down court like a gazelle with her speed in long legs, she to like Kushkituah was a attendee at the U16 Under USA Trails in Colorado, Springs. Maya is ranked by Prospect Nation at #23 overall and at #5 at her position for the Class Of 2017, ESPN HOOPGIRLZ has her rank at #11 for the Class Of 2017. Very versatile... Athletic... Can play the 2 Thru 5 position... Jumping ability is crazy... Can score any where around the basket... Nice 10 to 12 footer...


Mikayla  Coombs - 2017 - 5'10 - Forward - Wesleyan HS, (GA) - Just coming back from a major ACL injury, Coombs looks like she never missed a beat on the court. She doesn't look like a player who is playing with caution, attacking her defender while trying to get to the cup. When Gthing spoke to Mikayla this past summer at her home she just kept saying how ready she was to get back on the court. This was a big game for her against Loganville (GA) not because of talent, but because of the many Division 1 coaches that where in attendances so she could show them that she was fully healthy in that 2017 was going to be a breakout season. Good skills... Versatile... Can play the 1 Thur 4... ESPN ranked #24 and Prospect Nation ranked #28

Taja Cumming - 2017 - 5'6 - Point Guard - St. Francis HS, (GA) - So when does braking a press looks so easy, ask Taja Cummings who made that happen this weekend at the Krossover Classic. She got off to a slow start last year because of a knee but Cummings looks very healthy now. Hard worker... Strong upper body... Ball handler... High IQ...


Autumm Newby - 2017 - 6'2 - Forward - Archer HS, (GA) - A gamer who we saw play this summer at the FBC Fall Finale, she has but Archer HS on the map along with her sister who is now at Georgia St. Newby and her teammates couldn't get it going against a tough Riverdale (TN) but despite loss Autumm still showed why she is rank # 25 by ESPN HOOPGURLZ and # 14 by Prospect Nation. Can play on the wing and the post as well... More consistent around the glass... Good rebounder... Good hands...


Cairo Booker - 2016 - 5'6 - Guard - Wesleyan HS, (GA) - One of the state of Georgia's Elite guards, who can play along side of anybody. Great defender... Plays on the ball on both sides... Can score when needed... Disruptive...


Linsey Marchese - 2017 - 6'3 - Post - Archer HS, (GA) - Marchese has already committed to Indiana University, she has a Division 1 frame and should be ready for the Big Ten. Nice size for post... Good foot work... Can clear it out...

PATERSON, NJ - The home of NBA Legend Tim Thomas, was mob this weekend with girl's High School Basketball teams from as far as the state of Florida. New Jersey Sparks held it's 6th Annual A New Year's Resolution Showcase which featured some 40 teams from the East Coast, it started on Friday with a bang and ended on Sunday with a bang. Gthing only got to attend the Showcase on Saturday but it was worth the trip, not because of the fine cuisine they serve for all college coaches and media outlets, but because of all the the talent that was packed in two different location for this Major Event that had came through The Silk City.

Rebecca Lawrence - 2016 - 6'3 - Forward - Ridgefield HS, (CT) - Good fundamentals this Delaware  University signee has, knows how to play in the post with or without the ball. Jabarria "Butter" Brown - 2019 - 5'7 - Point Guard - Patterson Eastside HS, (NJ) - This youngster had the chance to be in Gthing All- Star game bu it looks like we missed out, Brown has great upside to be in the class of 2019. Showed a lot of potential this weekend, and we should be hearing her name more often. Not quite there.... Showed some goods signs.... not scared of the challenge...

Kasha Austin - 2016 - 5'11 - Combo Guard - Potter's House Christian Academy HS, (FL) - Big Guard who has some size on her, Potter's House always seems to have some good scrappy guards who likes to come full throttle. Austin is a good defender who has some athleticism, when on offense she has a killer mentality, she can hit any mid-range shot and even step out in hit the three at times. Good range... Creates space with her big frame... Little handle...

Diamond Shavis - 2018 - 5'10 - Wing - South Shore HS, (NY) - Wing who we didn't see shoot very much, seen a whole lot of other intangible that where impressive. Very active... High motor... 

Andra Espinoza - Hunter - 2017 - 5'11 - Wing - Blair Academy HS, (NJ) - Hunter who has already committed to U Conn, has had to take on a heavy load as of lately in some of Blair Academy's showcase event's that they participated in. The team has played without Honesty Grayson for sometime now, so now Andra is the lone star. Andrea Aquino - 2018 - 6'9 - Post - Paterson Eastside HS, (NJ) - Really starting to develop her game, especially around the rim. Grabbing a lot of rebounds calling for the ball in the post, being more aggressive and learning how to use her body more.

Janeen Camp - 2017 - 6'5 - Post - TPLS HS, (VA) - Major D1 prospect, has the body for the next level. Has to be more aggressive on the offensive side of the ball, but definitely plays well on defense and is very aggressive doing that.
