Diary Of A Female Baller: Ciera Cevallos 23' Maplewood, NJ - Maplewood Middle School - Exodus - Entry #7

Ciera & Exodus Teams

Hello to all the ballers out there, welcome to week 7 of my diary

Monday - Today we spent the day at my cousin's house in MD. Hung out by the pool all day. It was a great way to relax and spend time with family.

Tuesday - I was so exhausted from the ride back home that I skipped school today and slept until 1pm. When I woke up I unpacked all my things and spent the rest of the day cleaning my room.

Wednesday - Today We had a good day at school. We worked on a dance project during dance class. After school I went out for pizza with some of my friends before my mom picked me up. We had basketball practice so I was traveling with some teammates and their mom. We ended up going to the wrong address and drove all the way to Brooklyn NY instead of the Bronx. I was so upset because I was looking forward to basketball practice. My friend's mom felt so bad about the mistake that she took us all out to dinner and offered to pay for our training session the following day. The day ended on a good note.

I spent the day catching up on some studying and hanging out with friends. After school my mom picked me up and shared some REALLY excite news with me. I had an off day from training and practice. So we just went home and hung out together.

Tuesday - Today was a normal school day. I went to local pizza place to hang out with some friends after school before basketball training. My mom picked me up and we drove to Rylie’s house. Her dad took us to training. Training was a lot of fun, hard, but fun. After training we went to Rylie’s and had dinner. This has become our usual Tuesday routine.

Ciera Cevallos

Hello to all the ballers out there, welcome to week 5 of my diary

Monday - Today was the beginning of state exams at my school. I chose to opt out of the exam since I am going to private school . Since I opted out, I get to just hang out with my friends and have snacks, which is a nice break from all the work we normally do during the day. After school my dad and I went to the mall. He has a trip to get ready for and I am going to Dallas at the end of the week to play basketball so I have some things to pick up as well. We had a good time just the two if us.

Tuesday - Usual morning routine of getting ready for school and driving with my mom. Today was another chill day at school because of the state exams. After school I went to get pizza with my friends. My mom picked me up afterwards and I went home to get ready for my workout. I met up with my teammate Riley at the workout and we had a lot of fun. Coach asked me to shoot the free throw to end the session and if I made it we could go home and if I missed we had to run. I missed and so we had to run. He asked another kid to go and he missed also. Finally Riley shot the free throws and we were able to finish. Riley's mom made chicken and garlic bread and brought me some to eat after the workout. We got home kind of late, so I just cleaned myself up and went to bed.

Ciera, Miyoshi, Alisa

Hello to all the ballers out there, welcome to week 3 of my diary.

Monday - Surprisingly woke up on time and went to school after a busy basketball weekend at Boo. School was quiet and the usual day to say things. When I got back home we decided to take the day to rest since the weekend was so busy. I just shot around outside for a little bit, did my chores, ate dinner and went to bed.

Tuesday - Usual morning routine of getting ready for school and driving with my mom. In school I fell asleep during 7th period which has never happened to me before. Luckily the teacher didn’t catch me. Once I got home, we got ready to go workout with my friend/teammate Rylie. The workout was fun, we did warm ups and then situational drills and plays at game speed. I like it because it helps me work on what I would do during a game and practice calling for the ball and also passing.

Ciera Cevallos & Exodus Family

Hello To All The Ballers Out There, Welcome To Week 2 Of My Diary.

Monday - Went back to school after spring break. It was finally nice enough to wear shorts. I had a free period for 2nd period everyday which was nice because we got to finish up homework and study. After school I went to The Hub (after school program) and played pick up basketball before practice. Our team had a very intense practice. Coach Tony always pushes us to our limits to help us get better. I don’t always like it, but I know it’s gonna help me.

Tuesday - Usual morning routine of getting ready for school and driving with my mom. In school we had outdoor gym class because of the nice weather. Classes went as usual. I found out we have a quiz in social studies so have to make sure I study for that. After school my mom picked me up. I had a snack, did some studying and homework and got ready for practice. We had another really strong practice to get ready for Boo Williams Nike invitational.

Wednesday - Today I had my social studies quiz. I feel like I did well and I’m hopeful that I got a good grade. After school I made sure my room was clean because I was going to be having company after practice today. We practiced with the 8th grade and 7th grade teams. At the end we scrimmaged each other in order to prepare for the weekend. Over all the practice was very hard. I still have so much to work on to get to the next level and my end goals for basketball.

Leiya Stuart

Hello Basketball World, I'm Back With Week 8 Of My Final Diary.

Monday - Today my father and I went to the gym at 6:30am. We started with shooting 140 stationary shots and  then moved on to finishing around the rim. We stayed for about 2 hours before heading to Panera. Once I got home, I took a shower and spent a couple of hours working on some SAT/ACT assignments on Khan academy. After that, I watched tv and relaxed for the rest of the night.

Tuesday - Today my father and I started the day at the gym at 6:30. Similarly to yesterday, I started with 140 stationary shots but then moved on to ball handling and different types of shots off the dribble. When I got home I ate breakfast, took a shower, and continued to work on some of my SAT/ACT assignments on Khan academy. My parents and I went to the movies later on to see The Greenbook. The movie was about a black pianist who defies the stereotypes set on African Americans during the 60s. The movie was extremely interesting and we enjoyed not only the message but it’s comic relief on a real issue. Following the movie, we went back home and watched some college basketball games on tv.

Wednesday - Today my father and I started the day at the gym at 6:30. We started off with 140 stationary shots and then moved on to mid range jumpers and layups in traffic. After we left, we went to Panera. When I got home I took a shower and continued to work on my SAT/ACT practice assignments. Later on, I watched tv and relaxed for the rest of the night.
